Steve Cohen became the official owner of the Mets back in November 2020. He acquired the team for a whopping $2.4 billion. You see, Cohen currently owns 97% of the Mets and he is well known for his massive wealth and willingness to invest in sports franchises. Not to forget, he is one of the richest owners in the major league baseball.
He has the capacity, status and ambition to consider the idea of investing in the Knicks. It was speculated that his interests lay outside of MLB as well. It’s not that far-fetched. He has a great impact on the Mets that has made the team reach its prime in major league baseball.
