“Every place has a story to tell. Introducing the Coco Delray, from the court that Coco calls home. Available March 13th, 2025,” Coco Gauff said, while proudly unveiling her fresh new shoe line. She later reposted the clip on IG, thanking New Balance for their unwavering support and giving a heartfelt shout out to her grandmother for being part of the journey. Fast forward to May, Gauff blends her rising tennis form with her undeniable fashion flair again. Her new collaboration with New Balance and Miu Miu is turning heads on the red clay of the Italian Open. Now, the former US Open champ has disclosed who serves as the muse for her remarkable Miu Miu ensembles in Rome. Can you guess?

Coco Gauff recently re-shared a Tennis Channel video on her IG story that spotlighted her latest Miu Miu outfit. The post was captioned, “It’s a slay on clay.” In the clip, the American ace is seen arriving at the Italian Open courts, then practicing in her standout New Balance x Miu Miu ensemble, a sleek navy and white outfit with bold red accents.

As she re-posted the video, Coco also included a snippet from a recent interview she gave to Janelle Sessoms of ‘Fashionista,’ where she opened up about her evolving fashion sense and the style inspirations that guide her choices.

Looking back, Gauff admitted Disney heavily influenced her childhood fashion. “I was very much one of those Disney Channel kids putting on the crazy layers and stuff,” she told Fashionista. “I was obsessed with whatever Zendaya or Coco Jones wore, even though they probably would hate their outfits now, but at the time, I loved it,” she added with a chuckle.

When asked about her current fashion icons, Coco further remarked, “[My style inspiration] right now, I’d say, is Doechii. I love everything that she’s doing. Obviously Zendaya, too, she always kills it. A$AP Rocky and Rihanna, too. And Tyler the Creator, I think he has a good sense of style.”

The 21-year-old also touched on the difference between her on-court and off-court fashion attire. “[My on-court style], I would say, is quite opposite to what I wear off-court, honestly. I like to show a little bit more skin, which I still do off-court, but even more on-court. I like to wear a lot of bright colors — I feel like it just looks good on the tennis court, especially on the hard courts,” she explained.

The latest New Balance x Miu Miu x Coco Gauff collaboration officially dropped on April 24, as announced by Miu Miu’s IG page. The centerpiece of the launch is the Coco Gauff CG2 sneaker, offered in two striking colorways, one blending NB’s classic gray and silver with touches of gold, and the other in muted gray with a vibrant green sockliner. Each sneaker is equipped with custom Miu Miu insoles, merging sporty performance with luxury aesthetics.

The line goes far beyond just sneakers. The collection features Gauff-inspired tennis outfits in bold color-blocked combinations, purple and white, red, blue, and white, along with stylish track sets for both pre-and post-match appearances.

Beyond Rome, Coco is set to wear exclusive kits from this collaboration at the Berlin Open (June 14–22) and Cincinnati (August 5–28) as well. Each tournament will showcase unique color schemes: white and green with sky blue in Berlin, and white and royal blue with red in Cincinnati, each paired with co-branded hoodies and track pants for a complete courtside look.

And as she dazzles in fashion, Gauff is also hitting her stride on the clay courts of Italy, blending her bold off-court flair with a growing momentum in her on-court performance.

Coco Gauff shares her views after getting past her tough opponent in Rome

Coco Gauff entered the Internazionali d’Italia riding high after a strong run to the Madrid Open final. But her second-round opponent, 156th seed Victoria Mboko, had also been on a hot streak. The Canadian had already racked up 33 wins in 2025, primarily on the ITF circuit, and showed her momentum early by taking a commanding 5-2 lead in the opening set.

Mboko stunned the crowd by snatching the first set, but Gauff responded with resilience. The American star regrouped and fought back to secure a gritty three-set comeback win. At the net, Gauff’s sportsmanship stood out, as microphones caught her complimenting Mboko’s impressive play during their post-match handshake.

In her on-court interview, Gauff didn’t hold back in praising her young opponent. “It was a tough match. Victoria, she came out playing some great tennis. I knew she was going to do that just from watching some of her previous matches,” she said.

Reflecting on her performance, she further added, “Overall I’m just happy with I was able to step up my game. Wasn’t playing so well in the first set and on top of that she was playing some great tennis but I was able to reset.”

Gauff now faces 32nd seed Magda Linette, holding a 2-1 edge in their H2H meetings. With her new fashion attire on the court, can Italian soil be the one place that turns Coco’s season around? Share your thoughts in the comments below.
