Angel Reese’s Week-Long Effort Pays Off as She Steals Spotlight Back From Caitlin Clark’s $9.75 Million Feat

The game winners, hustle on the court, long threes, and Caitlin Clark are back in action. Yes, in just a few days, fans will have action-packed weeks. And as soon as the WNBA schedules were announced, Indiana Fever games were already getting sold out – even the preseason fixtures. CC’s return to the Carver-Hawkeye Arena might just have been the biggest of them all so far, with 15k fans in attendance. But then, when Caitlin was doing her thing, Angel Reese was also preparing to shine on the big stage. And it was a big hit for the Chi-Town Barbie too.

The needle movers or the catalysts, whatever you call them, there is no question that when Angel Reese and Caitlin Clark make public appearances, cameras and money are rolling in. In the case of the Fever star, her pre-season debut and return to the Iowa home court brought in $9.75 million in ticket sales alone. And for Angel, it was more Hollywood style as she walked the ramp at the Met Gala.

Her looks on the red carpet were flawless, fitting the ‘Superfine: Tailoring Black Style’ theme.

“The look was, of course, inspired by the theme of the evening, which is ‘Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,’ an ode to Black dandyism,” Reese told Ariel Baker of Marie Claire. “It was rooted in timeless elegance. I wanted to channel Old Hollywood glam with a modern twist—clean, glowy skin, a bold lip, and soft glam that felt powerful and timeless.”

The Chicago Sky star had been on the ramps before, and she knows how to drill. For the 2025 Met Gala, though, Reese took it up a notch, working with makeup artist Leticia Chancey to create her look for the evening, but more importantly, as a Host Committee Member.
