Starting all the way back in 2021, the Calm Down Podcast has been a haven for Charissa Thompson and Erin Andrews. It’s a space where they can open up about their lives, careers, take up questions from fans, and of course, talk about sports. These two ladies have not only made their mark on the world as sportscasters with careers that span more than two decades, but they’ve also amassed a massive following with their candid takes on their podcast. And now, there are some more brilliant additions to their long list of episodes.
Haircare, advice on embracing 40’s, love languages, and even tips on how to feel comfortable leaving your baby and going to work, talks about a DMV appointment disaster, and school’s picture day; this week’s episodes have it all covered. Erin Andrews shared a clip of some of the moments from this week’s episodes, and in it, Charissa Thompson made yet another revelation, expressing regret over a skincare choice.
In the Instagram clip, Erin complimented Charissa, saying, “You look great. I know I have a lot to add about your look today.” And Charissa, shaking her head, responded, “You and I were together over the weekend, and one of us used sunscreen and one of us didn’t. And this is what I do to myself. I’m a masochist and I will spend all this money on lasers and creams and I’m going to get a facial every freaking five days – and then I’ll sit in the sun and not wear sunscreen because I think to myself, Oh, I just want to get a base tan. Well, here we go. It’s all my fault.” And then she pulled back her hair a little to show the visible tan lines that she obviously regrets now. Charissa even went on to say she’s a ‘masochist’ because of her sunscreen mistake.
“I’m a masochist and I will spend all this money on lasers and creams and I’m going to get a facial every freaking five days and spend a lot of money, even though I love my facial. And it’s like, and then I’ll sit in the sun and not wear sunscreen because I think to myself, Oh, I just want to get a base tan.”
Charissa does look thoroughly tanned, but Erin loved how she looked, as evident when she shook her head when Charissa berated herself over her mistake. “Well, here we go. It’s all my fault.” Let’s face it, we’ve all had a skincare malfunction at some point, and Charissa’s confession is not only relatable, it’s also endearing. When these ladies say they’re going to have candid conversations about real stuff, they really do mean it. And while we are unpacking this, they also talk about picture days (the episode is also called Picture Day), and as always, Charissa had some interesting takes.

In the clip, Charissa Thompson also talked about her license picture and dropped an interesting factoid, “Your license picture is the picture that is seen more than any other picture. – every time you pull it out, if someone’s like, ‘Oh, you’re prettier in person than you are in picture’ that I’m like, okay.” She said it might be a good idea to downplay the license picture to avoid negative comments, “you don’t want to be too pretty in the license picture. Cause then someone’s like, Whoa, what happened to you? You like, you used to look great here. So I don’t know. So maybe downplaying the license picture and looking really shitty in the license picture is the mood.”
Well, that’s a neat idea, right? Have a bad picture on your license, so when people see you, they can compliment you instead of it being the other way around.

And just when you think it’s all over, Charissa dropped another truth bomb while talking about senior pictures, “I thought I was so g—— cute in that fake wheat field. And I was wearing a dress that was like a halter.” Erin expressed her surprise with “a wheat field?” Charissa laughed and added, “I was like where am I? Yeah, cowboy, take me away.” Yep, Charissa Thompson’s senior picture is her in a fake wheat field. The never-ending fun revelations by Erin and Charissa continue to amaze and entertain us, and we can only wonder what other truth bombs and reveals they’re going to drop on us next.
