“Can’t Leave Us”: Gymnastics Community Emotional As US National Team Member Announces Life Update

It seems like yesterday US National Gymnast Leanne Wong signed with Florida in November 2020 as she went onto reveal her decision with a signature chomp. Since then, she’s become the heart of Gator gymnastics.

Wong stunned fans with the nation’s first bars perfect 10.0 in 2022, later completing the rare “Gym Slam” with that unforgettable walk-off floor routine against LSU. Between NCAA seasons, she collected World Championship medals while balancing pre-med studies.

As the 2025 NCAA Championship concluded – where Wong claimed the uneven bars title with a spectacular 9.9375 – She has something to say, which had fans reaction as well.

The pre-med student who dazzled fans with four All-America honors in NCAA competition in freshman season, just posted a carousel of campus memories captioned “my final day of undergrad”

As fans processed Wong’s uneven bars title at the 2025 NCAA Championship possibly being her last hurrah, emotions spilled into comments sections. “Noooo you can’t leave us without your gymnastics!” one heartbroken supporter wrote.
