Michael Bisping Has Only 1 Word as Jiri Prochazka’s Trick to Improve ‘Immunity’ Leaves Everyone Shocked

5 min read

Jiri Prochazka, aka ‘The Czech Samurai’, loved martial arts from a young age, and it was as if he was made for it. However, life wasn’t easy and he had to deal with a lot of darkness before he found MMA. He grew up without a father as his dad passed away when Prochazka was just 6 years old. He had copious amounts of energy that found a channel through the brutal fights he had with other soccer teams in his school, and it extended to fights at discotheques and parties too!  Finally, martial arts is what rescued him, and he learned how to deal with his excess energy. “I think it saved me,” he had said, while talking to UFC.com back in 2021.

He draws inspiration from the samurai code, particularly Miyamoto Musashi’s ‘The Book of Five Rings.’ Prochazka does not train like most of the other UFC fighters. If you are a fan of anime, especially ‘shonen anime’, you know what rigorous training Naruto or Tanjiro went through to become the best fighters.

Now imagine seeing it in real life—that’s where Prochazka comes in. His training methods are truly bizarre, and he has always kept fans hooked with his different techniques to “improve his immunity.”

The 31-5-1 light heavyweight star has incorporated uncanny activities as part of his training, such as sensory deprivation, meditating under waterfalls, shadowboxing barefoot on a frozen lake, and rubbing poison ivy on his body. But this is not the end, as there is a new video circling social media, where he was seen ‘improving his immunity’ with another method.

As per ACD MMA,Is Jiri Prochazka rubbing stinging nettles all over his body? he says it’s for ‘immunity.” Prochazka was indeed there in the video, rubbing stinging nettles all over his skin. Former Middleweight champ Michael Bisping reposted the same and said, “Crazy. What’s some other crazy training method people have seen?”

His wish is our command because there are others who’ve fought in the UFC with equally bizarre “crazy training methods”. As per MMA Junkie,  UFC president Dana White has described Diego Sanchez’s coach and manager, Joshua Fabia as “Batsh*t crazy“. And guess what? It’s hard to refute.

Fabia once chased Sanchez and Emile Meek around the cage with a sharp blade in training as per MMA Junkie. “Man, it was the craziest s*** I’ve ever done. At one point, Joshua was running after us in a locked cage with a real, sharp blade, to make us move,” Meek said. On the other hand, Tony Ferguson has done unique things, from wrestling with a detached bathtub to kicking a metal pole. Merab Dvalishvili is also on this list as he did something silly and posted it to the internet for the whole world to see.

“I decided to jump into the cold water. I set up my phone, turn around, and leave it in the snow, I take my clothes off, and I decide to jump into the water,” shared the bantamweight champion via Full Send MMA. And guess what? He ended up injuring himself because of his shortsightedness. So, these are just some ways fighters train their body and mind, apart from the actual training in the gym. And Prochazka is no different. Would be truly bizarre if all his training entailed waterfalls and frozen lakes. Thankfully it’s not, as was seen when he visited a former UFC Karate-based fighter.

Jiri Prochazka trained with the Enkamp brothers

‘The Czech Samurai’ decided to train normally for once and had a sparring session with Oliver Enkamp and his brother. He trained with MMA fighter Oliver Enkamp and his brother Jesse Enkamp, a famous Karate educator with millions of YouTube subscribers.

The crossover fight saw a blend In the trio’s fighting styles but it was brutal. Prochazka went ahead and caught Oliver on the chin three times, and he even used elbows.! Moreover, along with Jesse’s commentary, the session concluded when Prochazka landed a brutal knee in the solar plexus, compelling Oliver to accept defeat and go down.

Prochazka’s power is of different proportions, and when landed cleanly, can prove to be devastating. Remember his elbow KO against Dominick Reyes? What about him tagging Jamahal Hill in his last fight at UFC 311, until he TKO’d ‘Sweet Dreams’? The only man ‘The Czech Samurai’ has lost to in the UFC is the former light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira. Everyone else in the promotion he’s faced has either been knocked out, or submitted.

As Prochazka waits on the sidelines for his next fight and is busy training, what do you think about his methods? Share your thoughts in the comments below.
