Tua Tagovailoa’s Backup Loses 7-Figure Sum Because of NFL Draft as Dolphins Approach Released Bills CB

Tua Tagovailoa was hit with a big update when the Dolphins selected Texas Longhorns QB. Looking back at Tua’s concussions and other injuries, there was a bit of confusion regarding the Florida-based QB. However, Mike McDaniel, the HC of the Miami Dolphins, is not taking any risk in introducing a new quarterback to the locker room. But the rookie quarterback was hit with big news.

“With the 231st pick in the 2025 NFL draft, the Miami Dolphins select Quinn Ewers, quarterback, Texas.” This is how the NFL announced Ewers’s seventh-round selection to Tyreek Hill’s team. But after the NFL team selected him, the Dolphins QB hit with big news. Actually, Quinn’s induction is a great step for Mike McDaniel’s team. It was taken in response to having a backup to Tua Tagovailoa, who had faced too many injuries in his NFL career following his retirement rumors.

So, the hit in the recent update to the Texas Longhorns QB is his money deals. The QB must be happy to now live in the big leagues, but his sacrifice says another about his college football career and his love to play in the NFL.

According to the latest update, Quinn Ewers will get a salary of $800,000, which would have been $8,000,000 if he had continued in college. Per rumors, Ewers NIL (Name, Image, and Likeness) has earned more than $ 8 M. And fans reacted to the tweets saying, “Love that. He is betting on himself.”

Few days ago, Football Fever reported another news/rumor, “Back in January, Quinn Ewers turned down an $8M NIL transfer offer and decided to enter the 2025 NFL Draft…[he] is projected to sign a four-year deal worth less than $1M per year, according to Spotrac. Ewers left roughly $7M on the table by not playing one more year of college football.” Well, let’s see if it’s real shortly.

After getting picked up, Ewers expressed his feelings, saying, “I’m excited to learn from this franchise and see how they do it.” And Mike McDaniel, the HC, also sent a strong message regarding the QB pick, saying, “It’s beneficial because you can evaluate some nuances you typically have to forecast. The way he orchestrates the offense, from the motion timing and anticipating things, there’s a fit there. We’re excited to get him into the program and start working.”

Meanwhile, the Dolphins have moved on from Rasul Douglas and released him.
