Tony Parker Soaks Up Adventure Time With Family Amidst NBA Overseas Expansion Plans

4 min read

Tony Parker was the heartbeat of the San Antonio Spurs’ dynasty, a blur of speed and precision who turned the point guard position into an art form. Over an 18-season NBA career, Parker racked up 19,473 points, 7,036 assists, and four NBA championships, all while playing under the legendary Gregg Popovich. Those are days of the past. The Frenchman is living his life to the fullest! Since hanging up his sneakers, the legend has gone headfirst into his business ventures and now leads LDLC ASVEL as its majority owner. With rumors of NBA expansion swirling, the pressure is at an all-time high, but the former NBA player is doing everything in his power to steady the boat, juggling everything at the same time. Despite the pressure, Parker took some time out for his family and his love for sports and adventure.

The Frenchman began his career in the French basketball league before declaring for the NBA draft. After being selected 28th overall in the 2001 NBA Draft, he played most of his career with the San Antonio Spurs, leading the team to four championship titles. Throughout his career, he has also represented France on the global stage. He has maintained that same energy in his post-retirement life.

But after taking a much-needed break, Parker spent some time at the famous adventure sports center Barjo Xtrem in Vernaison. His son seemingly joined him as well. He shared snaps and snippets of them enjoying activities, such as monkey bars and more, on his IG story. He captioned one of the snaps, “About this weekend” and another readmerci (thank you) Barjo Xtrem.” Parker and the fellow participants were seen wearing simple outfits for the adventures.

Just recently, Parker caused a stir with his take on NBA expansion in Europe. The Frenchman has been vocal about the potential expansion of the league. There are rumors that he might become a key player in this expansion of the NBA in Europe.

He said, “The NBA has contacted me and I am taking part in the discussions. The idea was to talk about European basketball and bring everyone back to the table, the NBA, EuroLeague, and FIBA. It is clear. We either reach an agreement or the NBA comes alone. We need to focus on a merger or a partnership.” “We would like to participate, but the goal is to join forces to create something never seen before while ensuring that no historic European club is left behind,” he told L’Equipe.

After briefly playing for LDLC ASVEL during the 2011 NBA lockout, Parker now owns a stake in the club. He is the president of the Club. If this merger happens, things will get busier, so it is only fitting for Parker to take out some quality father-son moments.

How many kids does Tony Parker have?

Parker met Axelle Francine in New York and got married sometime later, in 2014. Many might not know that Francine is a well-known journalist in France. Born and raised in France, Francine got her master’s degree in journalism and scientific specialization. She is also the founder and CEO of Le Petit Med Spa, which is for medical spa and skincare.

The two welcomed their first child, Josh. And two years later, the couple had Liam. However, after nine years of being together, Parker and Francine decided to part ways. The retired NBA player took to social media to write a simple message to inform the fans. He expressed gratitude for the years they shared and asked for privacy as they transitioned into a new chapter of their lives.

Before Francine, Parker was married to Eva Longoria, which came to an end after 3 years. Back in 2021, the former basketball player was rumored to be dating French tennis player Alizé Lim. Though the relationship remained mostly private, the two were occasionally seen attending events together. With the club as well as the expansion plans, Parker indeed has a lot on his plates, but he ensures to find some time for himself and his family.

Despite the ups and downs in his personal life, Tony Parker continues to move forward with the same determination that defined his basketball career. Whether it’s raising his children, nurturing new relationships, or building his legacy off the court through business and basketball development, Parker remains focused on growth, balance, and staying grounded in what matters most—family, passion, and purpose.
