What is happening to BJ Penn is extremely sad yet alarming at the same time. Over the past few months, ‘The Prodigy’ has claimed, among other wild and concerning things, that his mother was killed and has been replaced by a clone. Later, the former UFC double champ added his brother, Jay Dee, to the list. If you just go take a look at his Instagram page, you will find a host of alarming conspiracy theories and speculations that would tell you everything you need to know about his mental well-being. But the one post that is perhaps more on the funnier side rather than the concerning side is his recent claim that former UFC heavyweight and podcaster Brendan Schaub is actually Aaron Hernandez, the former New England Patriots star, who was convicted of mu–er and tragically committed sui–de in prison at the age of 27 in 2017.
To convince others, Penn made and posted a whole video on his Instagram handle, where he juxtaposes Hernandez and Schaub to ‘prove’ they are the same person. And Schaub, who initially found the whole thing funny, opened up about his complicated feelings about Penn’s ludicrous charges on his ‘Thicc Boy’ podcast.
“Here’s the way I first looked at it. There’s a lot of bulls—t, people take shots at me, I catch strays, you know, that’s the internet, I don’t really engage with it. And when they told me it was BJ, I thought it was another one of these ‘Real Housewives of MMA’ things where it’s like doing it for attention, clicks, and all the other bulls— and it’s hilarious. I was like ‘Oh my god BJ’ and I love BJ, never hurt my feelings, I don’t take any of it personally ever. You know, people love the drama in MMA, s–t like that. So like whatever, I put a laughing emoji,” Schaub said.
So the podcaster essentially took the whole thing as a joke and felt that Penn was trolling him. Schaub, of course, is no stranger to being trolled, with a whole industry of video essayists and podcast drama channels making their living off of mocking and trolling him. So the former UFC heavyweight just took Penn’s absurd claim as part of that. However, that didn’t last long as the horror of finding out that ‘The Prodigy’ was dead serious about his claims about Schaub was made clear to him.
“And then Mayhem Miller reached out to me like ‘Dude, this isn’t a joke. He legit thinks you’re Aaron Hernandez.’ I was like ‘oh, well, you took the wind out of my sails. Like that’s not funny anymore.’ I was gonna repost it, I had some jokes and have fun with it. It’s more sad than anything else. I figured he did this because you know, I was like, with BJ’s stuff, never had fun with it. I was always like, ‘this dude needs help, this doesn’t end well.’ It’s a shame ‘cuz this dude’s a legend. So it just takes all the fun out of it, you know. This is not something to mess around with if BJ thinks I’m Aaron Hernandez,” he added.

Indeed, Schaub is totally right. It isn’t something to mess around with, and this indeed doesn’t usually end well. This is why we are yet again pleading for someone to do something about it before it’s too late!
BJ Penn needs help now!
When we say we are alarmed at BJ Penn’s mental health issues, we mean flashing red lights, loud sirens, repeated warnings to get out, and all. Perhaps ‘The Prodigy’s thoughts about Schaub aren’t as alarming since there is no risk to anyone’s life or well-being here, but that is not the case for Penn’s family. As we have mentioned, the former two-division UFC champ is absolutely convinced that his mother has been murdered and replaced by a look-alike clone to rob the Penn family fortune.
What makes that situation so worrying is that Penn and his mother live in the same house. And if Penn feels his mother is not his mother, is in his home to harm his family, and has complained about not getting any help from the police, could he not take things into his own hands? That could end disastrously for everyone.
This is why it is mind-boggling that Penn’s family and close friends have not gotten him the kind of help he requires. Maybe ‘The Prodigy’ is totally opposed to that and doesn’t want to do it. But if that is the case, then the family and friends need to take matters into their own hands and compel him to get help. Otherwise, Penn looks like a ticking time bomb that could detonate at any moment. What do you think about Brendan Schaub’s take on BJ Penn accusing him of being Aaron Hernandez?
