‘I Was So Mad’: Jordan Spieth Got Stern Warning From PGA Tour Veteran Over His Silly Actions on Film Set

4 min read

The aspiring hockey player is back on the PGA Tour! And this time around, he has a whole bunch of famous golfers tagging along with him. Happy Gilmore 2 is set for release on July 25, 2025. The iconic golf movie features Adam Sandler reprising his role as the title character, alongside ‘Modern Family’ fame, Julie Bowen, and Christopher McDonald returning as the villainous Shooter McGavin. Unlike the first movie that only featured Lee Trevino as a professional golfer, part 2 of Happy Gilmore has a host of the best players in their cast.

In one of the first trailers of the movie, fans saw Paige Spiranac and John Daly showcase their acting skills for a few seconds. Rory McIlroy, Travis Kelce, Scottie Scheffler, and Bryson DeChambeau were also a part of the sneak peek. Now, another PGA Tour pro has confirmed that he and one of his peers are also part of Happy Gilmore 2. However, their experience has been less than ideal for the production team.

Keegan Bradley and Akshay Bhatia joined the latest episode of the Subpar Golf podcast. Tournament officials paired the duo together for the first couple of rounds of the ongoing RBC Heritage 2025. They spoke about their time on Harbour Town Golf Links and other things related to golf. Towards the last quarter of the podcast, one of the hosts questioned the Team US captain for the 2025 Ryder Cup. Bradley was asked, “Give me the best and worst actors out of the Tour players you saw on the set of Happy Gilmore 2.”

Speaking about his time shooting for the movie, the 38-year-old said, “My part, that I’m in, is with Jordan Spieth. I was really nervous as this was a really official movie. I don’t know what I was expecting, but this was like ‘this is different than the stupid little commercials that I shoot’. We had these lines, and we had to deliver. There were real actors that were depended on us.” Judging by his statement, seems like Bradley was a bit overwhelmed by the entire setup. As good of a golfer as he may be, playing one in a movie is still not as easy.

Bradley confessed how he was “really, really nervous” and couldn’t look at Spieth. He continued, “First take and Jordan looks at me and we both start hysterically laughing. And I was so mad. I said, ‘Jordan, you have to stop. We’re ruining this whole production.’ We, ultimately, I think, got it. But definitely Jordan (the worst actor out of the Tour players).” Bradley confirmed that his scene with Spieth makes him believe that the latter was the worst PGA Tour pro acting on the sets of Happy Gilmore 2.

As per Keegan Bradley, he and Jordan Spieth have only one scene in the movie. However, judging by the former’s reaction, seems that it might be either awkward or way too hilarious. Fans expect Happy Gilmore 2 to deliver on everyone’s expectations. Having said that, who else from professional golf will be a part of the golf-com movie? Let’s find out.

Happy Gilmore 2 is bringing in the stars

As previously mentioned, Happy Gilmore 2 is going to be a star-studded event. Most of the main cast of the comedy on golf will return to action as Gilmore aims for another win at the Tour Championship. On his quest for the golden jacket, he will face challenges from the returning Lee Trevino, Scheffler, McIlroy, DeChambeau, Spieth, and Bradley.

Alternatively, the movie also features Brooks Koepka, Collin Morikawa, Will Zalatoris, and Justin Thomas. Adding on to that, beloved AEW wrestler Maxwell Jacob Friedman, famously known as MJF, and WWE superstar Becky Lynch are also a part of the cast in Happy Gilmore 2.

Apart from Happy Gilmore himself, who else are you excited to watch in the sequel of the highly anticipated movie? Let us know in the comments section.
