4 min read

Frank the Tank has glittered again. Though not at the court this time, but beyond its expeditions! Sarah Franklin has been the true star of LOVB Madison ever since she joined the team. Her prowess, domination, and tough playing shots had the fans in awe whenever she was on the court. Girls watched her hitting hard attacks as well as dominating the nets while also exploding in cheers that sang, “Oh, we love her!”

In the recent match between LOVB Madison and LOVB Houston, the former lost the game, but the charm of its player was alive. Madison’s night was a tough one, but some of its incredible players demonstrated extreme power. And they were Wang Simin, Ana Beatriz, Ana Stevenson, Lauren Carlini, including our Frank the Tank, who made remarkable moves to take the lead. The most prominent one was when Sarah passed a huge swing to the opponents, bringing joy to the fans. But the real thrill still awaits. It is post-match when joy begins—the heartwarming moments when she signed the jerseys, placards, and little laurels that her fans brought.

The No. 13 Sarah Franklin jersey steals the show!

The pro volleyball star in LOVB expressed her joy at the constant progress in the sport and how overwhelming it has been so far to see herself grow as a role model for the young girls! She said in an exclusive interview with LOVB’s Serving Pancake—behind-the-scenes stories—that she has had a big impact on the little girls who come to see her play every time she is on court. And that the Madison’s jerseys with their bold letters—SARAH FRANKLIN 13—were all sold out! “Its crazy, I mean, we have our jerseys, like the shirts that they sell, like, and they were all like, they are sold out!” Sarah expressed her shock!

When it comes to tracing the path of her progress, her time at the Wisconsin Badgers is quite relevant to consider. For her skills led the team to progress to the NCAA Division II Women’s Volleyball and other Big Ten Conferences. The love for the sport, as well as for Madison, took her to one of the professional League One Volleyball teams in the US. “I love when evertime someone comes up to me and say, ‘We love watching you play’, like everytime, it makes my day.” Sarah stated.

Her social media post of 16 December 2024, for her last match at the collegiate level, got many emotional reactions as fans got concerned if they would see her again. But the girl came back with a big hit when, on 20 December 2024, LOVB Madison gave an update about her selection with the team, and the jersey that came out with bold colors had all the pride that left fans in full emotions.

Franklin is the motivation for Madison’s youth

No. 13 Dominant Sarah is a spark in the eyes of her admirers. She said, “After the game, when I get to sit there and sign for these girls, and I get a whole bunch of these girls. It really makes me happy, because you know, when I was younger college volleyball wasn’t in the eyes as it is now.” Even after fighting two serious injuries in her college career, Sarah came out stronger. Well, she was the finalist for the National Player of year with 4.46 kills per set, a 0.289 hitting percentage, 30 aces, 2.28 digs, 0.49 blocks, and 595.5 total points! Even though she couldn’t claim it fully, her admirers have been more than happy for her.

It is true to observe the professionalism of volleyball reaching higher pedestals with players like her putting in extreme efforts and determination to represent their states, regions, and colleges. Sarah added, “Professional Volleyball wasn’t even a thing in United States,” emphasizing the need for the sport to be showcased at a global level, especially for young girls who wish to be like her, play, and take leads.

“It never, it absolutely never gets old,” Sarah said, to see her emerging as the top professional player of volleyball in the US. That too, among the young girls who love to watch her play the sport. She wants the girls to look up to her, her path, and her legacy to be a part of LOVB Madison in the coming years.
