Conor McGregor’s Combat Return Takes a Twist as Mike Perry Risks Getting on UFC Star’s Bad Side

4 min read

Mike Perry cannot find an opponent to save his life. The BKFC mega-star and the King of Violence of course, has not fought in the bare-knuckle promotion since April last year. Mind you, this isn’t really out of choice though. The superstar just doesn’t have a worthy opponent. After all, Perry is a major draw — arguably the only true star in BKFC, a promotion still finding its footing in the combat sports world.

A PPV star like him deserves an opponent who can sell pay-per-views. Or at the very least, someone with enough fan interest to draw viewers. But believe us when we say this — apart from Perry, there aren’t many fighters in the BKFC, who fit that bill. The former UFC star is getting desperate — calling out fellow BKFC co-owner Conor McGregor.

“I mean Conor McGregor is getting all this attention for just talking about Bare Knuckle, he’s never even faced anyone. I’m 5-0 in there, so no hate to him man, he’s a good  promoter if that’s what he wants to do, you know. It’s all a lie out here. But y’all know for a fact that you can’t come and see me in real life to my face and try or I’ll f–k you up b—-es stylistically,” Platinum told The Schmo in an interview.

Currently, McGregor is embarking on a political career. He hopes to run for President of his native, Republic of Ireland this year. Fighting is the furthest thing from his mind. The Irishman, of course, had made noises about wanting to fight in the BKFC, citing its “gladiatorial” nature. But saying something and actually doing it are two very different things. And Mac’s recent actions have proven he is not interested in coming back to the fight game. But there is another suitable opponent for Perry to fight next who is a big star and would make him a lot of money.

Mike Perry desperate to avenge Jake Paul loss

Mike Perry joined a list of illustrious former UFC stars who got knocked out by Jake Paul last year. Platinum Perry stepped in on less than four weeks’ notice to replace Mike Tyson as Jake Paul’s opponent in July. Paul dominated the fight and won by sixth-round knockout. Given the loss to one of the sport’s most polarizing figures, it’s understandable Perry wants a rematch.

“I want Jake Paul to face me again. I want to fight Jake Paul again. If it’s with gloves, I need 10 weeks if it’s without gloves I need 6 weeks and I’ll get prepared ‘cuz I’m too busy f—ing living my life. If y’all want to call me on three and a half weeks’ notice and I’ve been chilling, hanging out, partying, having fun, I need to know what’s coming,” Perry demanded.

“So if I can get in the gym twice a day, add some recovery to that for my inbetweens and you’ll see the best version of Platinum Perry. That’s what you want to face. Give me my time, make it respectful, and we sign the contract,” he added.

And you know what, there is a good chance Perry gets to fight Paul after all. The Problem Child doesn’t have an opponent at the moment. He was in negotiations to get his dream fight. A mega-clash against Canelo Alvarez, but the Mexican superstar blind-sided Paul by singing a deal with Riyadh Season. This means Paul is also in the market for a worthy opponent. And who better than a veritable combat sports superstar who is hungry for revenge? What do you think about Mike Perry’s comments about Conor McGregor and Jake Paul?
