Another game, another Anthony Edwards technical foul. This is Ant’s 18th of the season. We know he’s a troublemaker, but even as the season ends, he hasn’t been able to keep himself out of trouble. Even though he and the official who gave him the tech are on good terms. So what happened?
Well, the Timberwolves beat the Nets pretty soundly tonight. In the second quarter, Edwards was getting up close and personal with the Nets’ Keon Johnson on the wing. The ref thought there was too much contact and called for a personal foul on Edwards. But in protest, Edwards spread out his arms in disbelief, and protested the call, using profanity. In fact, here’s what the man himself said about the whole thing.
“They called a foul and I said, ‘what was the effing foul?’ And he gave me a tech. I hope they look at it and rescind it so I can play in a couple of days.” And when a reporter asked whether the league would rescind it, Ant revealed why he thought they would. “Yeah. I’m praying that you’re saying that. I mean, because I don’t feel like it should have been a tech, but me and Ray got a good relationship. You know? So we talked it out after the fact, but I still don’t feel like I deserve to tech for just that little,” revealed Edwards.
Anthony Edwards picked up his 18th technical foul of the season, and will suspended for Sunday’s game because of that.
