Wrestling Community Impressed by OSU’s Huge Signing as Bo Bassett Suspense to End Soon: “This Is Huge”

David Taylor‘s talent acquisition is impeccable. Don’t you think? Ever since his ascension as the head coach for the OSU Cowboys wrestling program, he has been tailoring it to near perfection. He has been busy scouting for the top crème, much like himself, to fortify the future of the Cowboys wrestling. The man is a legend and a charmer, but now we know how persuasive he is as well. How else would he have gotten Dreshaun Ross, Fort Dodge’s next-gen pride, to commit to OSU over Iowa, ISU, and Penn State?

Dreshaun Ross, a two-time state champion in his junior season and eyeing the third, dropped the bomb on his official Instagram handle, which was immediately picked up by the OSU Cowboys wrestling program’s podcast, The Low Single, about his decision to commit to the OSU Class of 2026.

So what sealed the deal for Dreshaun? It’s none other than a visit from OSU’s head coach, David Taylor, at a recent invitational. With this official announcement, OSU has nailed down a three-star recruit while waiting with bated breath for the other top dog, Bo Bassett‘s decision, which would be announced on Tuesday.

How do we describe Bishop McCort’s Bo Bassett? With a high school career record of 98-0, one state championship, the Ironman, Super 32, and Powerade titles, and yet to complete the entire allotted time of 6 minutes on the mat before his wins, Bo Bassett is already perceived as a wrestling prodigy and a legend. Bo’s streak remains undefeated, and he has even competed at the U20 level despite being 17 years old and tasted success. So with Bo, will David Taylor be able to weave his magic once again?

OSU has tough competition in Bo’s case, just like Ross’ situation, if not more. Penn State went all apoplectic in their attempts to pander to Bo, yet there are five more schools on his final list, including Iowa, Michigan, Ohio State, Rutgers, and Virginia Tech. On 2nd February, Bo wrote on his X handle, ‘After an amazing recruiting process, lots of great conversations, miles, weekends, texts & prayers, I have my mind made up & this week I will be making my commitment live on Flo Wrestling. When I narrowed it down to the final 7, I feel I couldn’t make a bad choice @FloWrestling’.

Bo Bassett’s official decision will be announced through FloWrestling on Tuesday. But meanwhile, the odds of Bo committing to the OSU Cowboys are looking up, especially in light of Dreshaun’s OSU pick. Netizens predict that if Taylor managed to convince Ross, the possibility of Bo following suit is not far-fetched. So how did Dreshaun’s OSU move go down on the web?

The internet congratulates OSU

As soon as Ross made his pick visible, the Cowboys fans flooded social media ecstatically over the decision. “Allow me to add how BIG this is! Oklahoma State made sure that Ross was a priority. I absolutely love this signing. This is huge for the program, and this is yet another step towards the awesome future of Cowboy Wrestling. ” Of course, Ross is a priority. That’s the price of being young, legendary, and from Fort Dodge. “Love to see it!! Fort Dodge produced another great”

The possibility of Ross’ announcement followed by Bo’s within a day’s time, if and when it happens, will definitely go down in history. Fans agree, “Okie State really gonna pick up Ross and Bassett in a 24-hour period.”. Except that there are flaws in that comment, we didn’t point it out. The wrestling pundits did. “No one calls it Okie State” and “Its 48 hours, Bo announces Tuesday.” Yeah, we agree that no one calls OSU Okie State, though it’s catchy. The tagline for OSU, Gopokes, is catchier. “Hell yeah, #Gopokes.”

There are more reasons as to why this is a huge decision from Dreshaun Ross. You see, Ross is multi-talented in multiple sports.Ross had two future pathways ahead of him. He is well equipped not just in wrestling, but in football as well. So when he had his prospects lined up, people were divided into two factions. When Iowa went all out to impress the two-time junior wrestling champion, word spread that Iowa would let him experiment with his standing at football too.

But the rumors were put to rest when Dreshaun made his full and final call to pursue a career in wrestling once and for all. With that given, where else would be a better place than under the guidance of ‘Magic Man’ David Taylor, who is at the helm of the OSU Cowboys wrestling program? Ross’ future shines as bright as the Cowboys’ performances.
