Tyreek Hill can’t go a single day without his name appearing in the headlines. Sometimes, it just feels like it’s Tyreek’s world, and we’re all just living in it. So, welcome to another episode of What the Cheetah Did Today. Before we get started, we should thank Reek for keeping us entertained while we wait for the Super Bowl. It’s like no day in the league can be dull as long as we’ve got Hill around. So, as most of you must know, Hill, in his video game live stream, said that they need to add some more ‘dawgs’ to the roster. And, like most of the time, Reek’s statement isn’t sitting well with many.
This time, it’s former QB Cam Newton who’s weighed in with his take on the WR’s comments. Cam doesn’t seem to understand who the Dolphins WR wants to add when he says that. As he puts it, Miami has “more star power than Kansas City.” Speaking of Kansas City, Tyreek probably doesn’t sleep some nights, still regretting his decision to leave the team. Well, back to Cam Newton. The former Panthers star is here to remind Reek of a few things. “…who are you talking about…thought you had Jalen Ramsey, ain’t no dawg? Odell (Beckham), ain’t a dawg?”
Cam was really in the mood to give Reek a dose of reality and was quite annoyed with his statement. “Tyreek didn’t become Tyreek until after a couple of years in Kansas City, but that ain’t the point. My point is when you say, man, get some m—g dogs, who are you referring to who would you want to replace…. This roster that you got, Tyreek Hill, is way better than the Washington commanders on paper,” he added.
Tyreek Hill was trying to clarify his stance about what he said after the last game of the regular season. The WR explained that his comments came in the heat of frustration. “Bro, y’all don’t understand, I bust my ass every day. I deserve to feel like that. I deserve to have some kind of opinion.” And right after this came the statement that got even his teammates to disagree with him.
Tyreek Hill’s teammate says ‘yes, no, maybe’
“We got dogs, we just need more people to bring it out.” These are the words of Dolphins RB De’Von Achane. It looks like no one else is on board with Cheetah when it comes to adding more people to the roster. But he did indirectly support the essence of what Tyreek is calling for. Just ask yourself: what is Achane implying here by saying that they need more people to bring it out? Ummm… could it be about the coaches or the team’s management? Well, let’s not go there. But hopefully, Tyreek has gotten the message that the current roster is just fine. It’s them, maybe, who need to work on bringing out their magic as a group.
“Last year’s team isn’t going to be the same as this year’s team, so we know how the season went last year, and this year we should make sure that we don’t run into those errors. We know what we’re capable of. If we’re all on the same page, I feel like we’re a hard team to beat,” said Achane on the Up & Adams show.
The RB agreed that, as a team, they failed somewhere. But he does not doubt that they are a strong roster. “We knew as a team that we dug ourselves into this hole. It sucks that the season ended just as we started getting it together. It would’ve helped if we figured it out earlier. The season would have been better,” he added.
So Hill can flush out the thought of getting more ‘dawgs’ on the roster and might need to focus on how to work things out with his teammates. But the need for that dawg mentality is well recognised.
