‘The Madhouse’ is truly living up to its name. Tempers were flaring at the Bowman Gray Stadium as 23 drivers aimed for supremacy at the legendary venue in the opening pre-season race. The narrow short track is known for making overtaking opportunities difficult for racers, and the slightest bump can result in a domino effect, affecting several drivers at a time. That’s exactly what happened with Carson Hocevar, who was thoroughly disgruntled after being wrecked.
Driving the No. 77 Chevrolet, Hocevar had initially moved Christopher Bell up the track, an incident that didn’t go down too well with the Joe Gibbs Racing driver. In what appeared to be a retaliatory measure, the No. 20 Toyota was seen slamming into the right rear of Hocevar’s vehicle, sending him spinning into the tire barrier.
However, replays showed that it was Joey Logano who made contact with Bell’s Toyota, causing a chain reaction that ultimately affected the Spire Motorsports driver.
The No. 77 team told Carson Hocevar what happened with Logano getting into Bell.

Immediately after the incident, Christopher Bell was heard saying on the team radio, “I didn’t mean to do that.” Hocevar, who was fuming at being wrecked couldn’t help but say, “Disappointing. I don’t know what more he wants from me.” However, his No. 77 team clarified that the incident occurred because of Logano’s contact on Bell’s Toyota, but the Michigan native was not in a forgiving mood, going on to say, “I don’t give a sh-t.”
