2025 Galleri Classic: Prize Money Breakdown & Winner’s Payout

3 min read

The PGA Tour Champions is headed to the sixth event of the season, the Galleri Classic. The California-based event is a highly anticipated event, particularly because it features the ever-charismatic John Daly. Daly, who played in the Hoag Classic and finished T56, is competing in the Galleri Classic on a sponsor exemption. Sponsor exemptions were also awarded to Notah Begay III, Boo Weekley, Mario Tiziani, and Jeff Brehaut, and they join a very experienced field.

The event starts on March 28th and will feature three rounds till March 30. It is telecasted live on Saturday and Sunday on the GOLF Channel. It is likely to be a thrilling enterprise with a big prize purse up for grabs for the entire 78-player field. There is no cut at the Galleri Classic, just like all PGA Tour Champions events, so all participants are promised a chunk of the money. Let’s take a look at how the field is divided.

The prize money distribution at the 2025 Galleri Classic

There is $2.2 million at stake at the Mission Hills Country Club in California. The winning golfer will take home $330,000, just like last year’s winner, Retief Goosen, closely followed by $193,600 for the runner-up.

Other than money, the golfers are also playing for Charles Schwab Cup points. Each dollar earned translates into a regular-season point to qualify for the 2025 Charles Schwab Cup playoffs. At the end of the season, top five players in the final standings are paid part of the $2.1 million bonus pool (all as annuities), based on their standings in the list.

With such impressive offerings, Galleri Classic will feature fierce competition. There are a lot of celebrated players in the field. But who are the favorites to clinch this big purse that is at stake in California?

The favourites at the 2025 Galleri Classic

Seven World Golf Hall of Fame members are competing this week at the Mission Hills Country Club. Bernhard Langer, Vijay Singh, Jose Maria Olazabal, Ernie Els, Fred Couples, Colin Montgomerie, and Retief Goosen.

Miguel Angel Jimenez will be looking to make it three wins in six starts this season, after having gone the entire 2024 PGA Tour Champions season without a win. The Spaniard will face stiff competition from the likes of Ernie Els, Stewart Cink, and, of course, the fan-favorite John Daly. Cink, who finished runner-up at the Hoag Classic, is the favorite. The veteran golfer is yet to finish outside of the top 10 this season, and he will be hoping this converts to a win this time around.

Who do you think will win $330,000 prize money in California? Do you think fan-favorite John Daly can surprise everyone with a victory this time around after a disappointing outing at the Hoag Classic?
