“Why Doesn’t (Caitlin Clark) Have Her Own Shoe Already?”: Calls Mount Against Nike as Indiana Community Outraged Over Latest Kobe Bryant Tribute

2 min read

Caitlin Clark and Nike go hand-in-hand. The Indiana Fever star, after having an insanely successful collegiate career, signed a huge eight year, $28 million contract with the footwear company. Not only that, she also starred in their huge ‘So Win’ Super Bowl campaign recently.

After an exceptional rookie year, fans are wondering when Nike plans on releasing CC’s signature shoe. There have been conversations about a Caitlin Clark shoe for months now, but the shoewear company decided to focus on reigning MVP A’ja Wilson and her A’One first.

Recently, Nike announced two new shoes paying tribute to Kobe Bryant, and Caitlin Clark is a huge part of the puzzle! They are releasing special player-edition Kobe 5 and 6 Proto PEs that were made for the Indiana Fever star, on June 1 and October 1, respectively.

Obviously, fans had questions. “Why doesn’t she have her own shoe already?” A concerned user asked in the Nike comments section, while another fan agreed. “Love the Kobes but she Should get her own line.”
