Well, Deion Sanders just pulled off a special move, and it couldn’t have come at a better time for Claressa Shields. The 30-year-old boxing star, fresh off a suspension scare, got some well-timed backup from Coach Prime himself. Sanders dropped a reel on Instagram showing the two sparring, and Shields wasted no time hyping it up. “Aww mannnn you done posted the GWOAT!!! Nothing but ,” Shields fired back in the comments.
Meanwhile, her fight with the Michigan Unarmed Combat Commission isn’t over just yet. Shields got her suspension dissolved, but the enforcement action is still in play. That means fines—or even her Feb. 2 win over Danielle Perkins getting overturned—could still be on the table. She tested positive for “trace” levels of marijuana after that fight, despite the substance being legal in Michigan. The issue? Dort Financial Center, where the bout took place, bans it.
But for now, Shields isn’t sweating it. “Officially unsuspended!’’ she declared on X. “But y’all a little quiet! Y’all was real loud about me ‘supposedly’ smoking marijuana and being suspended! No worries! And still an Undisputed heavyweight champ! I have the Order to prove it!!!”
