2 Franchises Stance Cleared on Released Cooper Kupp as Mike Vrabel’s Patriots Hold Doubts Against Ex-Rams WR

I don’t agree with the decision and always believed (my career) was going to begin and end in LA.” But life doesn’t always go as planned. The Rams‘ decision to part ways with WR Cooper Kupp left the rest of the team and the entire Rams fandom heartbroken. But it was somewhat expected, as the WR missed 18 games over the last three years due to multiple injuries. Plus, Kupp will soon turn 32. And the team didn’t want to spend more on a player who is no longer in his prime. So, even after Kupp expressed his desire to stay, the Rams announced that they were looking to trade their WR.

And after LA failed to find a trade partner, they released him on Wednesday. Now that the WR is in free agency, his name has been linked to multiple franchises. Kupp himself wants to make a quick decision, finding a new team as soon as possible. The sense around the league is that former #Rams WR Cooper Kupp doesn’t plan on having a long, drawn-out process and prefers to make a decision quickly,” reported Jordan Schultz of Fox Sports.

Out of the many teams mentioned, the Jaguars‘ name was floating around the highest, but Schultz clarified that the team won’t be having any talks with Cooper. “Despite reports connecting Cooper Kupp and the Jaguars, sources say Jacksonville is not in on Kupp.” So, the Jaguars’ name can be crossed off the list.

Then there were also rumors that the Denver Broncos might be interested in acquiring the Rams’ No. 1 WR. But now, some sources say that the Broncos might not be willing to pay as much as Cooper demands.

Could Cooper catch on in New England?

Well, Cooper signing with the Pats would make sense since the 31-year-old has many connections in New England. But the thing is that HC Mike Vrabel is expressing caution with how he approaches the free agency process. “We don’t want to be reckless through this process. We want to be very intentional with the people we bring on this football team. And we’ll continue to target all of those needs that we feel like, and the players that can help us.

Even the Pats would think twice before spending dollars on a player who has hit the 30+ mark. So for now, it looks like there are no potential landing spots for Kupp.
