MLB Trade Rumors: Yankees Predicted to Make Aaron Judge-Backed $77M+ Signings To Overcome Roster Collapse

4 min read

Another day, another drama in the Bronx! It seems like the New York Yankees are never off the road, making headlines every now and then. After being severely impacted by a string of injuries in their lineup, if rumors are to be believed, they are about to experience some positive developments, highlighting the chances of Aaron Judge getting some support with $77 million plus signings that the Yankees are currently predicted to make.

However, that doesn’t quite make them a favorite in the World Series Championship. Given that they have lost some of the key players, including Giancarlo Stanton, Luis Gil, and recently, Gerrit Cole, Judge will definitely need the support that he always strived for. Right after losing in 2024, Aaron Judge was quoted saying, “I think falling short in the World Series will stay with me until I die.” And that shows his hunger for the game that cannot be satiated with so many players on the injured list and until the Yankees’ think tank shows some aggression in the offseason.

On March 10, top MLB insider Mike Rodriguez shared a post on his X handle: “According to my sources, Brian Cashman might consider pursuing Erick Fedde, Dylan Cease, and Sandy Alcántara. Additionally, he could explore the possibility of reuniting with Sonny Gray or Michael King; however, Aaron Judge has expressed a strong interest in Sandy Alcántara.”  The Yankees’ management is indeed quite rigid, as they take too much time, which leads to losing some of the best free agents. Rodriguez claimed that Brian Cashman can acquire Dylan Cease, Sandy Alcántara, and Erick Fedde, which will help Aaron Judge somewhat.

Rodriguez went on to say that they might try to reunite with Sonny Grey or Michael King. The Yankees can sign Fedde for a $7.5 million contract, Cease for $13.75 million, and Alcántara for a hefty $56 million contract, and that’s all! A cumulative total of about $77.25 million seems like a solid bet for the Yankees, given the challenges they are facing at the moment. It sounds quite impressive, as the additions will not only give Judge some additional support but can also bolster their roster until the injured players make a comeback. However, Aaron Judge seems to get the backing for getting Alcantara. Will that be the right call?

Why such a strong desire to get Marlins $56 million ace?

Miami Marlins’ $56 million star pitcher, Sandy Alcantara, has been the main focus of trade speculations for quite some time now. Alcantara suffered an injury, which led to missing the 2024 season; however, he’s showing good signs as he hit 99 mph after returning to the mound. While most teams are competing with each other in need of an elite arm, Judge’s interest in getting him on their lineup seems legit, given the way Alcantara’s bringing 100 mph spring heat since his return. But that’s not all!

The 29-year-old Alcantara also put up a strong display of his skills with two innings without any score in a 30-pitch outing. He even reached a maximum exit velocity of 100.4 mph, and that’s quite impressive, isn’t it? The Yankees’ right-hander Luis Gil was one such player, who used to throw at least one 100-plus mph four-seamer, one 93-plus mph changeup, and one 90-plus mph slider. Therefore, given his solid outing in the spring training sessions, the Yankees will surely look to get his services, which can be a major boost for the Yankees.

However, nothing’s been official yet, and fans are hoping that the New York Yankees make some good signings not just to win but also to provide much-needed support to Aaron Judge so that he can achieve his dream of lifting the World Series title once. What’s your take on it? Let us know.
