Buccaneers Make Demand for Out of Contract Erin Andrews After Fox Reporter Joined 800 Women at Flag Football Event

Erin Andrews still remembers the first time she felt underestimated. It was early in her career, back when sideline reporting felt more like a novelty act than a respected role. She stood in a sea of men with headsets and clipboards, clutching her mic like a lifeline. “You’re just here to look pretty,” someone muttered as she walked by. Years later, Andrews doesn’t just report on the game—she’s redefining it.

That spirit was on full display in Tampa Bay, where Andrews wasn’t just covering a story—she was the story. Standing shoulder to shoulder with 800 women, she wasn’t holding a mic—she was holding a megaphone for something bigger: a future where women thrive not just in the stands, but on the field, in the boardroom, and beyond. And as the Buccaneers took center stage with their bold new initiative, Andrews found herself in the heart of a movement that had her name written all over it.

Erin Andrews has become the big game-changer! She is flourishing in a whole new era for women in the football world. After clearing her stance on her FOX Exit, the sports commentator appeared at a major NFL event with her (former) co-host, Charissa Thompson. The Bucs celebrated International Women’s Day with their first-ever flag football event, “She is Football” Weekend (March 7-8, 2025).

And, of course, Erin Andrews became the real showstopper of the event presented by @wearejabil. It was a legendary event at Raymond James Stadium which went miles beyond your regular sports summits. The former ESPN correspondent joined 800 accomplished women for a special moment as the Buccaneers made demands from the reporter. Thrilled at this moment, Andrews, 46, expressed her gratefulness. “This! So special @buccaneers,” she wrote, adding, “ 800 successful women & @calmdownpodcast,” in an Instagram post.

The Buccaneers Team Store collaborated with Andrew’s fashion brand, WEAR by Erin Andrews. They also shared a post featuring the best-friends reporter duo in the team store, captioning it “Look who stopped by the team store yesterday @wearbyea is available at our She is Football Market & Festival today!”. In the store, Andrews described the jackets available, saying “It comes in all different teams, all different, obviously the Bucs, number one today”. “And always this jacket, I live, live, live in during the season. It’s so great. Varsity jacket,” she singled out her favorite design.

That’s when the Bucs’ official Instagram popped up with a simple two-word demand: “Need everything”. Well, what can we say? We agree! We are blown away by every single design too!

Truly, this event was a huge celebration for women breaking down boundaries in football and demonstrating their belonging throughout the football game and business. Erin and Charissa stole the limelight.

Erin Andrews and Charissa Thompson add glamor to the event

The reporter duo set the stage on fire with a live recording of their show, Calm Down Podcast with Erin & Charissa. “She is Football” was a two-day event with a 5K run/walk that included a market with more than 50 women-owned enterprises. And what was the main purpose of the Girls’ flag football tournament? To encourage more girls and women to play football, keep them involved, and provide them genuine chances to succeed both on and off the field.

Additionally, this summit included mentoring sessions with female executives from different kinds of businesses. At this moment, Andrews also shared a vibrant picture featuring herself with other successful women. She also tagged her co-host and sportscaster Charissa Thompson. Charissa, 42, also exhibited her excitement for this major milestone by re-sharing the post on her IG story.

Andrews also gave a big applause to the Buccaneers for hosting such a huge event. “This was beyond special! Thank you, @Buccaneers, for bringing the @calmdownpodcast to you. She is Football Summit @CharissaT”, she mentioned in one of her post captions. Even the Tampa Bay Buccaneers took to their official IG handle to share beautiful glimpses of the event. “Kicked off our #IWD2025 celebrations yesterday with day 1⃣ of She is Football Weekend, presented by @wearejabil,” they wrote, adding a folding hands emoji in the post caption.

At this big moment, the Buccaneers also highlighted their goal of this major summit on Women’s Day. Celebrating International Women’s Day to keep girls in sports while developing them as future leaders. “Yesterday’s summit, designed to advance careers, allowed attendees to connect and learn with female business leaders in small, engaging mentoring sessions, “ reads one of the posts.

Not only this, there is another post picture with a lovely caption that drew much attention. “It’s a beautiful day to be a woman in sports,” the text reads, printed on Erin’s designed apparel. Truly, the Buccaneers’ summit is a major step toward ushering in a new era for women in football.
