Nick Kyrgios Trades Indian Wells Grind for a Wholesome Cuddle With Costeen Hatzi and Their Furry BFF

Do you believe in love at first sight? Well, our resident bad boy, Nick Kyrgios, does! That’s exactly how he fell in love with his girlfriend, Costeen Hatzi. The Australian tennis player first reached out to Hatzi when she was selling a mirror on Instagram in 2021. Fast forward to 2025, and the couple now live together and are also proud parents to a pawdorable dog named Boo. Hatzi, who pursued psychology but has turned to being a social media influencer, shared the cutest sneak peek of their home.

Costeen Hatzi posted a snapshot on her Instagram Story where we could see Kyrgios and her cuddling while their dog also jumped on the Aussie player. They keep giving us couple goals all the time. She is even supportive of the Aussie tennis star, even when he is acting like a complete villain. Sharing a glimpse of his practice session on Instagram, he wrote, “The VILLAIN is usually the character they remember anyway .” Hatzi’s reaction? In one word, she hilariously supported his stance and commented, “Slay.”

However, it’s not always hunky dory. The fashion influencer has recently opened up about what it’s like to be on tour with her tennis player boyfriend. Talking to Stellar Magazine, she said,  “I spend a lot of time alone on the tour. I wake up in the morning, we go get breakfast, then we go into the courts. Nick trains for about an hour and a half, we go back to the player’s lounge, eat some food, then come back home, and Nick gets physio. Nick’s used to it because he’s been doing it for about ten years now. But for me, I definitely feel it.”

The 29-year-old tennis player is currently prepping to battle it out at the Indian Wells tournament after his short stint at the Australian Open, where he fell to Jacob Fearnley in the first round. But looks like there is another bump in the road.

Nick Kyrgios suffers a setback just before the Indian Wells tournament

After a two-year break due to knee, foot, and wrist injuries, Nick Kyrgios made his return at the Brisbane International earlier this year. However, he was ousted in the first round by Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard. After his short stint at the Australian Open, he decided to skip the tournaments in February but confirmed his entry for the BNP Paribas Open.

However, things took a turn during a training session alongside Japan’s Sho Shimabukuro. The Aussie tennis star suffered a wrist injury during practice, and his team had to be summoned to take a look at it. Kyrgios even walked off the court for a few minutes. This raised concerns about his readiness for the tournament.

Given his history with injuries, this is the last thing he needed. Previously, after the AO, he had highlighted the severity of his injury and said, “I’ve got six holes in my hand and one in my arm [from surgery]. Not one tennis player has ever had this surgery and come back and tried to play again.” Despite the setback, the 29-year-old will still hopefully take the court at Indian Wells. The former Wimbledon finalist will be using his protective ranking to enter the ATP 1000 tournament. He is set to face Dutch player Botic van de Zandschulp in his opening match. A win there would set up a blockbuster showdown with Novak Djokovic in the next round. Kyrgios, surprisingly, has a 2-1 lead in their head-to-head, a rare feat against the 24-time Grand Slam champion.

Kyrgios’s return has been anything but smooth, but the challenge is nothing new for him. Can he push through and make a statement in the desert?
