As one of the most loved fight promotions, the fighting community oftentimes expects a bit too much from Dana White and Company. All fight fans desire is a night filled with action and sequences that would keep them on the edge of their seats throughout the event. But most of the time, it’s the pay-per-views that succeed in standing up to such expectations. But the fight nights, they rarely entertain. And UFC Vegas 103 might just be one such event.
The UFC head honcho kept the hype real as he shared the main card and the prelims on Instagram. He captioned the Instagram post, “#UFCVegas103 prelims are LIVE in 30 minutes on @espn+!” Needless to say, the UFC boss man wanted the event to be a success. After all, the fight nights are the events that introduce new prospects to the action-packed MMA realm. And UFC veterans were ready to support White in his quest.
NFL star Maxx Crosby stepped up to fan the hype by sharing White’s IG post on his Instagram Story. He captioned the story, “[Dana White].” And Cub Swanson took to the comments section of the UFC CEO’s post and showed support for his teammate at Bloodline Combat Sports, Danny Silva, as he won his second UFC bout against Lucas Almeida at UFC Fight Night 253. He wrote, “Let’s Go!!! @dannysilvamma.”
However, the fighting community didn’t share the UFC veterans’ sentiments. Most of the fans felt that the card was as boring as things could get. Let’s take a look at what the fighting world had to say about UFC Fight Night 253.
Fans left unimpressed with Dana White’s UFC Vegas 103
The fans seemed to share the same feelings. One fan pointed it straight away and wrote, “Worst card of all time.” Another fan chimed in and wrote, “One of the worst cards I’ve witnessed in my time as a ufc fan.” The card even deserved a spot on the worst 5 of all time list, according to some fight fans. One of them commented, “Top 5 worst cards.” However, being fans of the fight business, we simply can’t stay away, can we? A fan reflected on this and commented, “S— card but we’re still cashing in!!”
Some fans brought Dana White into the picture and pointed out that the fights scheduled were not appealing to them at all. The comment read, “No one wants this Dana.” A witty fan found another amusing task to be more worthy of their time. They wrote, “Rather watch paint dry.” Well, White must be disappointed.
Another group of fans compared the prelims with the main card. The comment went like, “Such a mid card. Why is the first fight better then [sic] all the other fights besides the main event.” The ‘mediocrity’ of the card even spurred some fans to believe that UFC was dead already. They even claimed that WWE was pulling the numbers down. A fan weighed in on this and wrote, “Dana your loosing to the WWE stuff your pulling your numbers are down RIP UFC you had a great run.”
