Tragedy Strikes Gymnastics Community As 18-Year-Old Star’s Elite Career Ends Due to a Devastating Injury

“So excited for floor finals tomorrow. “ Five days ago, an 18-year-old gymnast posted this on her social media. Little did she know then that her anticipation would turn into her worst nightmare. And that the 2025 World Cup mats in Cottbus, Germany, would be the last time she’d be representing Team Great Britain as an elite gymnastics star. But, alas, when misfortune strikes, it hardly comes bearing a warning…

On February 27th, Charlotte Booth added an Instagram post that no one was ready for. The teen gymnast informed that during the 2025 World Cup Floor Finals, she happened to rupture her Achilles. This has had her undergo surgery and face-to-face with the worst fear of her life. Thus, the gymnast has decided to wrap up her elite gymnastics career. She wrote, “I am so thankful to everyone who has been a part of my elite journey and for British Gymnastics who made my dreams reality.  It has been more than I could’ve ever asked for and I will always be grateful for all of the support.”
