Calls Mount Against Boston Celtics HC After He Surrenders To Pistons With 360 Seconds Left On Clock

2 min read

Trouble in Celtics land! They have been on fire recently, having won their last six games and sitting comfortably in the second spot of the East standings. And they hoped to extend their winning streak tonight as they faced the Pistons. Instead, the Boston franchise got a harsh reality check in Detroit as they got absolutely decimated by the hosts, leaving Joe Mazzulla with no option but to give up long before the final whistle. Sure enough, the hoop community was not pleased with the head coach’s losing attitude.

In a shocking upset, the Pistons dominated the Cs from the get go and gained an 11-point lead heading into the final quarter. But many fans still had hope that the reigning champions would make a comeback and come out with a win. However, the situation only got worse as Cade Cunningham and Co. kept extending their lead. With nearly 6 minutes left on the clock, Mazzulla decided enough was enough, as he surrendered on the comeback attempt and emptied his bench.

Well, the head coach did give the main guys an opportunity to show some signs of life, but they failed to score any points on that possession. That’s why Mazzulla decided it was time to give up. However, that decision did not sit well with Celtics fans and calls began mounting against Joe with comments like “Not even down 20 with half a quarter left and Joe Mazzulla getting a whole g-league unit ready to sub in. This is not a fu*king winning coach” and “Fire Joe Mazzulla” began flooding in.

And Joe Mazzulla has seen enough. He’s emptying the bench now.

Main guys asked for one more possession, didn’t score and now this one is being put to bed. https://t.co/ppXjnavGfg
