Mike McDaniel isn’t playing around this season. In a recent chat with host and writer for Dolphins Travis Wingfield, the head coach dropped some serious truth bombs. “We had success on long balls last year, so teams played us conservatively,” he said. “We’ve gotta make them feel threatened, stop them from giving us so much pre-snap depth. Protection is key, and we need to dominate short and intermediate routes to open things up.” Translation? McDaniel’s got a plan to keep defenses guessing, and it sounds like he’s ready to unleash chaos on the league.
Mike McDaniel to Travis Wingfield: We had success on long balls so teams played us conservatively last year. We have to make them feel threatened so they stop giving us so much pre-snap depth. We need to protect. And we need success on short and intermediate to open up.

On the other hand, Terron Armstead is out here being the ultimate team player. The Dolphins’ star OT is reportedly slashing his contract down to the minimum, freeing up a ton of cap space. Originally set to make $28.6M, Armstead’s move gives Miami the flexibility to make all the moves they need this offseason.
This is a developing story. Stay tuned…
