Noah Lyles’ Finds New Spiriting Partner as 3x Olympic Medalist Joins Track and Field Star Ahead of 2025 Campaign

4 min read

Noah Lyles has dominated sprinting with his amazing speed and a mental game that’s tough to beat. But with the 2028 Olympics on the horizon, he’s about to embark on a whole new phase in his career. What does a bold coaching switch mean for Lyles’ future, and who is the new force in his corner? The answers might surprise you.

Lyles has secured several World Championship titles, and an Olympic gold, and lit up the track with his record-breaking 9.79-second 100m run in Paris. British sprinter Daryll Neita has joined his team as they both prepare for the next stage of pursuit. Neita is a three-time Olympic bronze medalist and a standout in the 100m and 200m. But what will this bold coaching switch do?

A recent tweet on X highlighted an update on Neita’s upcoming track season. “LOCKED IN!! Daryll Neita has been getting ready for the 2025 track season in her new training setup with the Pure Athletics Group in Clermont, Florida,” it revealed. On January 21st, Neita made a big career leap. She’s moved from training with Marco Airale in Italy for two years, where she hit some big milestones like her first individual international medal, to joining Lance Brauman’s Pure Athletics in Florida. It’s a gutsy move after doing so well with Airale, but Neita’s ready to push her sprinting further under Brauman’s coaching.

Lance Brauman has trained top athletes. He has worked with stars like Noah Lyles, Kendall Williams, and Elija Godwin. Neita, who is particularly keen on sharpening her 200m skills, believes that Brauman’s coaching can unlock her potential. “My goals are through the roof. I don’t put limits on myself at all,” Neita told Olympics.com. “100 percent I am aiming for individual medals this summer. I don’t see why anyone shouldn’t believe they can; everyone should aim to be the best.” These words show her commitment to pushing boundaries beyond her limits. Moreover, she is determined to reach new heights in the sport with the change in her training approach.

As Neita takes bold steps forward, Lyles is focused on his game, getting past the challenges along the way.

Lyles on mastering confidence and controlling the moment despite challenges

Noah Lyles isn’t just a sprinter; he’s an incredible athlete. Take his gold medal run in Paris during the 2024 Olympics for example. He was dead last after the first 50 meters, yet, he didn’t panic or doubt himself. Instead of getting rattled, he stuck to what he knew and sprinted to victory with an astonishing 9.79 seconds. Lyles has faced plenty of personal challenges off the track too. Even though he has dealt with asthma, allergies, and depression, none of those things have stopped him from going forward.

When running, Lyles understands that getting the crowd on your side can be just as crucial as dominating the track. “‘Control the crowd, control the race.’ Nobody knows how to control a crowd like me, so if you want to go out and yell, that’s cool,” Lyles said. “I’m not here for you; I’m here for the crowd,” he added. He knows the art of using the vibe of the stadium to his advantage.

Does Lyles plan to carry out this strategic plan through the upcoming changes with Neita on board? Will she be able to bring new energy to the table? Let us know your thoughts on this in the comments.
