Turning a Hero for Dee Devlin & Kids, Conor McGregor Gives Honest Statement on Family Responsibilities

4 min read

Whether it’s New Year’s, Christmas, or Saint Patrick’s Day, Conor McGregor makes sure to spend it with his wife and four children. In his latest escapade, the former champ once again reminded everyone why he does what he does—to protect and provide for his loved ones.

Uploading a photo of his kids inside an SUV, Conor McGregor captioned it with a simple yet powerful quote, “I am equipped for the task. I am THE ONLY ONE. Father. Fighter. Protector. Provider.” This just one of the many moments where ‘Mystic Mac’ has showcased his love and devotion for his fiancee Dee Devlin as well as his four kids Conor Jr., Croía, Rían, and Mack.

Back in October 2024, McGregor posted photos of their family having the time of their life on a yacht highlighting his commitment. In addition to that, he celebrated milestones of his family, such as spending time at a mermaid-themed birthday party for his daughter or engaging in playful grappling sessions with his son, Conor Jr.

His fiancée has been the bedrock of ‘Mystic Mac’s’ support. Despite the civil case accusations and the risk of losing nearly every business, Dee Devlin’s loyalty never wavered. Out of all of his accolades, McGregor’s family is his most cherished one.

It must be noted that McGregor’s father wanted him to leave the world of fighting and pursue a career as a plumber. The former UFC champion might have followed his advice, but it was Dee Devlin who continuously pushed him to chase his dreams by all means. There were times when Dee Devlin had to work multiple jobs as a waitress just to support the dream that McGregor saw for himself. ‘Notorious’ and Dee Devlin once lived on a $235 welfare check.

Her investments did pay off as Conor McGregor not only lived his dream but also stood at the top of the pinnacle for years and ‘Mystic Mac’ is grateful for it. “My girlfriend has been there since the start. She has helped me throughout this career. If it wasn’t for her, I probably wouldn’t be where I am today. My girlfriend worked very hard throughout the years and stuck by me when I had essentially absolutely nothing,” said Conor McGregor in an interview.

Their relationship teaches one thing that appears to be a bit missing these days and that is to stick together even if the times are hard. Given that, what’s next for Conor McGregor? Will the former champion ever return to the UFC? A former fighter answered the question.

Brendan Schuab shares honest take on Conor McGregor’s comeback story

Conor McGregor last fought in 2021 against Dustin Poirier at UFC 264, where ‘Mystic Mac’ suffered a brutal shin injury that forced him into a lengthy recovery. He was scheduled to face Michael Chandler last year but was ruled out due to another injury. Since then, McGregor has remained absent from the MMA world. In the meantime, the former champ has been embroiled in his duties as a promoter for the BKFC. Looking at this, Brendan Schaub believes that McGregor will be making his comeback in the BKFC rather than the UFC.

“He doesn’t have to worry about his leg here. He’s part owner in it so he can probably manage a little more kind of the opponent and the arena. I think Bare Knuckle is more likely depending on his contract with the UFC. If he comes back to UFC, it should be against Nate Diaz who’s been out, old you know just kind of doing this PR thing. Now if he fights in the UFC, you can’t toss him like a top 10 guy, he’s going get eaten alive right now, “said Schaub.

It must be noted that fairly recently, the former UFC champ stated that he would be fighting under the BKFC management, “If you think I’m up here giving these speeches and leading these men into battle and I won’t step in there myself, think again. For sure, Conor McGregor will fight in the Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship. Mark my words.”

Conor McGregor has two fights under his UFC contract and without fighting under the promotion, he will not be able to clash outside of it. Given that, will Dana White agree to his fight under the BKFC? State your thoughts in the comments below.
