It was a debut-filled affair for the USWNT today. Having successfully kicked off their 2025 campaign with a comfortable 2-0 win in their SheBelieves Cup opener against Colombia, the American ladies struck lightning more than once. However, the moment currently stealing the spotlight involves none other than Becky Sauerbrunn, who was unexpectedly interrupted during her TNT broadcasting debut.
Gone are those days when the iconic defender herself used to play in these exhibition matches for Team USA. Ever since Sauerbrunn announced her retirement from the beautiful game, she has found broadcast journalism as a new venture for herself to pursue. TNT Sports, a leading UK, and Ireland-based channel that is now owned by Warner Bros. Discovery and BT Group, gave Becky Sauerbrunn a job as a studio analyst for the ongoing SheBelieves Cup.
The former Portland Thorns star joins ex-USWNT stars Shannon Box and Julie Foudy as well as renowned sports broadcaster Sara Walsh at the desk. Naturally, Becky was doing her job during the ongoing game at Houston, Texas-based Shell Energy stadium. The analyst was standing near the sidelines of the pitch, talking to the camera with a mic in her hand.
As Sauerbrunn kept reporting, she was interrupted by her former national teammates Sam Coffey and Lynn Biyendolo (formerly Williams). Becky had already noticed the two after she turned but Sam and Lynn seemed more excited, who literally jumped on her and hugged her. The new TNT Sports analyst was overjoyed, even as she tried to steady herself from the sudden embrace.

Notably, it’s not like Coffey and Biyendolo weren’t aware that Becky was rolling live; they were, but they simply didn’t care. After all, they were reunited by their former locker room partner.
