The ‘bad boy’ of tennis, Nick Kyrgios always finds a way to stay in the headlines. Whether it’s a career-threatening injury, his outspoken opinions on doping, or just having a laugh in general. What’s got the Aussie’s attention now?
Kyrgios had a tough start to the season. He stepped onto the courts for the first time in 18 months as a serious wrist injury had sidelined him. The Aussie star made his comeback on the Brisbane courts marking his territory on the singles and doubles court. In the singles category, he lost to Giovanni Perricard in the first round. Meanwhile, in doubles, he partnered up 24-time Grand Slam champion Novak Djokovic, but the duo got eliminated in the second round.
The 29-year-old tennis player played through an abdominal strain at the Australian Open match and ultimately lost to Jacob Fearnley in the first round. Despite these results, he is the ‘GOAT’ for many of his fans. Kyrgios reshared a clip of an interview on his Instagram story where a fan took his name for the most bizarre question.
In the clip, the fan was asked who would win the Grand Slam if they were all on LSD and he replied, “ Probably Kyrgios. He’s the GOAT of LSD, probably be the GOAT on it as well.”
Nick Kyrgios was clearly amused by this answer. One of the reasons could be his anti-doping stance. The former Wimbledon finalist has been very vocal in his campaign against Jannik Sinner and Iga Swiatek. Even recently he did not hold back on taking a jab at the Italian player.
Nick Kyrgios hits back at trolls as he takes a dig at Jannik Sinner again
Nick Kyrgios’ performance since his comeback has been quite disappointing. The 29-year-old tennis star has also considered entirely retiring from the sport altogether. His performance in the new season has led to a troll mocking him on X.
At the ATP 250 event in Montpellier, third seed Flavio Cobolli received a bye in the first round. On the official draws page, a glitch in the system resulted in ‘bye’ advancing to the second round of the event.
On January 28 a user on X wrote, “BYE has won more matches than Nick Kyrgios in 2025.”
Just a day later, the Australian tennis star responded by writing, “Bye has failed less drug tests than sinner.”

Jannik Sinner tested positive for Clostebol, a prohibited substance during the Indian Wells tournament. The World No.1 claims that the substance was transferred to him by his physiotherapist during a massage. While the International Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA) cleared him of any wrongdoing, the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) is not convinced. The 2025 Australian Open champion’s case is set to be heard at the Court of Arbitration for Sports (CAS) on April 16-17.
Meanwhile, Iga Swiatek tested positive for doping for TMZ in November. The Pole ingested the substance through a contaminated sleeping medication she took for insomnia and jet lag. The ITIA cleared her of wrongdoing as well but she was made to serve a one-month suspension. In January, WADA also decided not to appeal her case.
The Australian tennis star has been very vocal about his stance on the handling of these high-profile cases. In a press conference ahead of the Australian Open, he said, “Two world number ones both getting done for doping is disgusting for our sport. It’s a horrible look. The tennis integrity right now, and everyone knows it but no one wants to speak about it, is awful. It’s not okay. I know that people don’t like when I just speak out about things, be honest about things.”
While Jannik Sinner awaits his decision, there is no stopping Nick Kyrgios from criticizing him. His fan joked about Kyrgios thriving on LSD, meanwhile, he’s doubling down on his anti-doping stan. Will his latest jab at Jannik Sinner stir up more controversy?
