$72M Star Clears Feelings on Mike Vrabel’s Patriots in Strong Message Amid HC’s Coaching Staff Overhaul

2 min read

The Seahawks wide receiver DK Metcalf made it clear he has no interest in playing for the New England Patriots. In a candid interview on Casuals The Podcast, Metcalf said, “No, it’s not a desirable place in my opinion,” when asked about the prospect of living in Massachusetts. While acknowledging the Patriots as a “great organization,” Metcalf didn’t hold back on his personal views. Besides, Metcalf’s 3-year, $72 million contract with the Seahawks makes him one of the highest-paid wide receivers in the league.

His comments come as New England undergoes significant changes after Mike Vrabel took charge as HC. This includes a major overhaul of its coaching staff. The latest shakeup involves the departure of safeties coach Brian Belichick, son of head coach Bill Belichick. Brian, who has been with the Patriots since 2016, served as safeties coach for four seasons but is now moving on after nearly a decade with the franchise.

Damn: #Seahawks WR DK Metcalf has ZERO interest in living in Massachusetts and potentially playing for the #Patriots:

“No, it’s not a desirable place in my opinion. [The #Patriots] are a great organization though. A great organization.”

These shifts follow a dismal 4-13 season and reflect new head coach Mike Vrabel’s efforts to revitalize the team, with numerous assistants and coordinators exiting the franchise.
