This was the entire list of payouts. Let’s see which famous golfers have received the highest prize money in the tournament over the last two decades.

Past winners of the tournament

Only three golfers in the history of the tournament have won it twice. One of them was the GOAT, Jack Nicklaus, who captured the title, which was previously called the Jackie Gleason-Inverrary Classic, in 1977 and 1978. Other than him, Johnny Miller and Padraig Harrington have also won it two times in their career. The last person to win the tournament was Austin Eckroat. Unfortunately, he can’t join Nicklaus, Miller, and Harrington this year as he has already missed the cut.

Many other big names have also triumphed in the event in the past. Rory McIlroy won what was called The Honda Classic, in 2012. He did so by beating Tiger Woods & Co. by two strokes. Interestingly, McIlroy was on the losing end two years later. He finished 2nd after a playoff bout against Russell Henley. Rickie Fowler and Justin Thomas won it in 2017 and 2018 respectively. Some other famous winners include Vijay Singh, Ernie Els, and the 2025 Ryder Cup captain for Team Europe, Luke Donald.

After the first round 12-under par 59, will Jake Knapp join the illustrious list of golfers by winning the 2025 Cognizant Classic? Or are you placing your bets on someone else? Let us know in the comments section.
