Do you remember your school days? Playing around with your friends without a single worry in the world, life was good. As children, life seemed to have no pressure, no dubious responsibility, a time of our lives that every individual would want to get back to. Yet that was not all of it. We were also a part of a systematic routine, followed by even five-year-olds on a five-day-a-week basis. Forced to do the same tasks as every other child, irrespective of what we wanted, we were taught discipline and intelligence there. Joe Rogan believes the schools and the education system are the reason behind this.
A legendary personality in the world of MMA and the host of The Joe Rogan Experience podcast, Joe Rogan is a father of three children, and during JRE episode #2315 featuring José Andrés, he shared concerns about the education system in the USA. He blamed one of the most influential families in the country for using schools as a factory to produce future workers. Rogan didn’t hesitate once before going after the Rockefeller Family, who have a net worth of $10.3 billion.
He said: “School was designed to make good factory workers, that’s what school was designed for. The American school system at least was designed by the Rockefellers, and what they’re essentially doing is preparing people to be cogs in a wheel. They were preparing people to just show up and do what you’re told and live this life of quiet desperation and just sit there and absorb whatever they tell you to. Because you’re going to have to go and work and do something you don’t want to do all day long and show up and do it again until your body stops working and you die.”
Rogan further added: “I think starting people off at 5 years old and sitting them in classes all day that’s relatively new in human history. This is what I’m talking about, this sitting people in classrooms all day as children, this is relatively new in human history. This was not something that people did hundreds and hundreds of years ago when you think about all the great scholars of the past, they certainly learned school they didn’t do it the way they’re doing it today.”

Rogan’s takes and thoughts have inspired and reached the hearts and minds of millions across the world. He has remained a vocal critic of the American education system for some time now. Raising awareness of the issues and problems caused by not recognizing the difference between each individual, he has time and time again spoken about its cons.
Joe Rogan’s criticism of the American Education System throughout the years
Joe Rogan speaks so clearly while criticizing the American education system because he, by his own admission, is a victim of it. He has been open about how he was not a great student and had problems with most subjects as he found the classes to be repetitive and redundant. Rogan believes education should inspire creativity and curiosity but the way the subjects are conducted in classes, lead the students into boredom and disengagement.
The UFC color commentator described himself as a student whose confidence was deteriorating because of his underwhelming performances in school. His self-belief suffered due to the hyper-competitive and task-based environment of schools, yet when he read a book through his own curiosity, his idea bout himself began to change.
Joe Rogan’s struggle with his education wasn’t enough to stop him from becoming the person he is today, yet his voice speaks about a rather important issue. Not many make it out of the struggle the same way Rogan did. So what are your thoughts on this matter and Joe Rogan’s words? Let us know in the comments.
